Job Title: WASH Field Assistant

Location:
Damaturu, Yobe

Job Description:
The WASH field assistant will be directly under the supervision of the WASH Supervisor. He/ She will be responsible for management and implementation of the Humanitarian multi-sectoral Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) WASH programming at community (LGA) level.

Summary of Key Objectives:
  • Undertake community Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) activities at LGA level e.g. hygiene promotion, sanitation promotion, NFIs distribution etc.
  • Collect information and data on WASH at LGA level through surveys, assessments and post distribution monitoring of beneficiary households
  • Mobilization and awareness raising about the organization, program objectives and activities to local authorities and the population, and act as a link between the Organization and the communities (at LGA level)
Qualifications & Essential Skills:
  • Diploma in a WASH related field e.g. Public Health, Environmental Health or related Social Sciences with bias in hygiene and Sanitation practices
  • Commitment to ACF mission, values and policy
  • Professional, good organizational capacity, good human relationships, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitive
  • Good team spirit
  • 1 year relevant work experience
  • Experience in the field of water, sanitation, water management and social approach
  • Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word)
  • Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
  • Fluency in Hausa and English
Preferred
  • Previous experience with ACF
  • Previous experience with WASH programming
  • Good knowledge of the intervention area/s and local economy
  • Previous humanitarian programming experience
