Job Title: Data Scientist

Location: Lagos

Job Description

• Our client requires the service of a highly skilled Data Scientist.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the collection, storage and interpretation of data for businesses.
• Their duties include sifting through data points to create organized categories, comparing data points to current company processes and writing reports outlining business predictions or proposals.

Job Responsibilities

• Collecting data through means such as analysing business results or by setting up and managing new studies
• Transferring data into a new format to make it more appropriate for analysis
• Creating new, experimental frameworks to collect data
• Building tools to automate data collection
• Searching through large data sets for usable information
• Creating reports and presentations for business uses
• Correlating similar data to find actionable results

Qualifications / Experience

• B.Sc in Computer Science, Engineering or any related field.
• 5 years’ experience post NYSC in a professional environment.

Skills / Requirements:

• Strong mathematical & numeracy skills
• Good understanding of databases such as MySQL Server, Google Big Query
• Understanding of reporting & data visualisation tools such as Business Objects, PowerBi, R, Weka, NumPy, MatLab and Tableau.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark.
• Understanding of website scripts such as XML, Javascript, JSON, Rest
• Understanding of ETL framework and ETL tools including Alteryx and Microsoft SSIS
• Digital marketing analytics tools including Google 360, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Adobe Marketing Suite
• Excellent analytical skills - the ability to identify trends, patterns and insights from data
• Google Data Engineer or Google Machine Learning certification is added advantage.
