We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Steel Metal Designer

Job Summary

• Designer shall work in a team environment to develop accurate, constructible, coordinated, and timely sheet metal system models meetingproductiondrafting standards.
• A sheet metal designer will also be responsible for providing accurate shop drawings that support the productionteam.
• The designer will report to the modeling supervisor and be responsible for interacting with the fabrication supervisor, detailersand other member of the production team.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Productionstandards to create sheet metal models consistent with company and project requirements.
• Accurately model sheet metal systems in compliance with project plans and project specifications.
• Coordinate all ductwork and mechanical equipment with the architectural and structural elements of production.
• Utilize the fabrication team to provide annotated, dimensioned shop drawings.
• Review, and distribute fabrication and installation information for all ductwork and associated mechanical equipment including shop drawings, duct tickets, CAM files, and assembly drawings to project managers and productionleaders.
• Effectively and proactively communicate with project managers, project engineers and productionforemen during the drafting and construction process.
• Use Company tools to manage requests for information and shop drawing progress.
• Proactively identify and communicate areas of deficiency/gaps along with proposed solutions on projects to support timely completion of work.
• Produce all documents on time and within budget in a timely manner based on job requirements to meet the commitments to our customers, both internal and external.
• Actively pursue self-development of skills as it relates to the duties for this job position.

Requirements

• HND / B.Sc / B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering or any related field
• Minimum of 2 years sheet metal design experience using Solidworksor Autodeskor other 3-D drafting packages
• Experience with sheet metal drafting using of Solid works, Autodesk fabrication Software and Auto CAD 2D/3D
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural construction documents.
• Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software.
