Job Title: Finance Executive - Media

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • We require a Finance Executive who will report to the Finance Manager and provide support on the financial records, including regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures for the Company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the financial transactions of the company are accurately captured, classified, and posted with relevant approvals and coding instructions to the account team
  • Inventory control and management
  • Receivable Management
  • Provide detailed analysis and interpretations of the accounts in an easily understandable and informative manner
  • Ensure timely invoicing for clients
  • Perform regular reviews of the ledgers and other books of entries and ensure relevant reconciliations
  • Supervises the petty cash system
  • Organize a filing system for the company’s documents
  • Prepares Payroll Statement & Bank Advises monthly
  • Prepares Pension Schedule & Ensures regular remittance
  • Prepares PAYE Schedule & ensures regular remittance
  • Ensure staff HMO system is working appropriately
  • Liaises with the Vendors of the Company
  • Handles other assignments as instructed by management

Reports:
Included but not limited to:

  • Weekly / Monthly Cash Plan
  • Reconciliation reports
  • Weekly Reports (which includes Receivables Summary, Payables Summary, Cash liquidity position, Financial Summary)
  • Monthly reports include Income Statements, Analysis of Expenses, Financial Summary etc.

Education and Experience

  • Accounting Degree or equivalent
  • ACCA / ICAN Student
  • Minimum of three years experience required
  • Between the ages of 27- 37years
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Knowledge of Generally Acceptable Accounting Practices and Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of applicable tax laws, codes and regulations in the Media industry
  • Working knowledge and experience of accounting software
  • Resident ofLekki/Ajah and environs are preferable

Key Competencies:

  • Proven working experience as support personnel in the accounts department
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with preparing financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Excellent accounting software use and administrative skills.
