We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Team Lead, Bids & Estimating

Location: Lagos
Department: Bid & Estimating
Location: All Project Sites

Summary

  • Responsible for the preparation, submission of estimates. Pricing of tender documents, Identifying / costing of preliminaries on projects and building up rates for a proposed tender submission.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that tender enquiries, proposal/tender, and contracts are carefully reviewed to understand the project requirement.
  • Determine and understand Client requirement(s) to decide to make a Bid or No to Bid pitch to the Commercial Committee.
  • Review of contract document (including issuance to Company Lawyer) and proposing to Commercial Committee for acceptance and execution
  • Prepare and submit all RFP’s (Request for prequalification) as requested by clients
  • Maintenance of tender records and issuance to Commercial Committee every Monday COB
  • Maintain communication with Clients at the pre-contract stage
  • Establish and maintain departmental level procedures/work plans required for proposal activities
  • Establish and keep a check-list for profiling Clients to determine business engagement and partnership
  • Communicate with Clients to follow up on submitted proposals and obtain feedback a whether the bid is awarded.
  • Initiate action upon receipt of a contract award for any submitted proposal.
  • Conduct Post-mortem analysis for projects that are not successful.
  • Responsible for timely submission of tenders.
  • Carry out market analysis to understand market trends and make informed decisions in tendering.
  • Work closely with the business development team to progress opportunities and win business/projects for the company.
  • Manage a robust portfolio of clients and consultants, profitable revenue base and market share of the construction business in Nigeria.
  • Coordinate team and manage activities in the bids and estimating unit to win business.
  • Network with external stakeholders to win tenders
  • Prepare periodic monthly reports.

Educational Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science / Higher National Diploma in Quantity Surveying 
  • Minimum of 8 years cognate working experience  
  • Membership of NIQS / RIQS required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
