Job Title: Planer Operator

Location: Berger, Olowora -  Lagos

Job Description

• Inspect finished Woodstock to ensure that it fits specifications and conduct necessary maintenance on the machines, such as sharpening their blades.
• Ability to manage the logistics of the woodworking process, and also follow safety regulations.
• Selects and installs knives in cutter head according to work order, using wrenches and gauges.
• Turns hand wheels to adjust table level, pressure bars, and feed rolls according to depth of cut and thickness of stock.
• Operate planer, and positions Woodstock on conveyor or inserts Woodstock between feed rolls that carry Woodstock through planer.
• Inspects and feelplaned Woodstock to verify smoothness of cut and thickness of stock, using gauge and rule.

Qualification / Experience / Skill

• SSCE / NABTEB / Trade test Certification in Machine operation.
• Proven experience as a planer operator
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
• Good knowledge of English
• Operation Monitoring

• Strong mechanical skills and precision to follow customer requirements, as well as the ability to spot problems with power tools and work
• Good physical condition and endurance.
