Job Title: Bandsaw Operator
Location: Berger, Olowora, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Qualifications / Experience / Skills
- SSCE / NABTEB / Trade Test Certification in Carpentry / Furniture Making or successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship.
- Proven experience as a band saw operator
- Experienced in taking variety of materials and run it over the band saw table, following the appropriate process to cut the material into specified shapes
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Good knowledge of English
- Strong mechanical skills and precision to follow customer requirements, as well as the ability to spot problems with power tools and work
- Good physical condition and endurance.
- Applicants should possess relevant skills, qualifications and experience.
Abilities:
- Ability to set up and operate metal-sawing machines, like hacksaw, band saw, circular saw, friction saw, and rubber-disk saw to cut metal stock to dimensions.
- Ability to read job order for specifications, like material, type and size of stock and dimensions to be cut.
- Ability to measures work for conformance to specifications, using rule.
- Ability to marks identifying data on work piece.
- Ability to replace defective cutting blade or wheel, using hand tools.
