Riparian Farming Limited (RFL), a subsidiary of Asset & Resource Management Holding Company (ARM HoldCo.) is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: General Manager

Location: Ogun, Nigeria

Job Summary

  • Management of all farming operations and activities of RFL under the direct supervision and direction of the Managing Director, RFL;
  • Fully support the company’s objectives to achieve agreed revenue, cost, profit and cash-flow targets as set out in the business plan from time to time;
  • Ensure the financial and overall general administration of RFL and all related issues are in line with properly communicated ARM norms and procedures at all times;
  • To work effectively with the Executive Management of RFL and all other ARM Group Support Units to convert the Strategic Plans, Vision and Mission of RFL into a commercially successful reality, and
  • Work seamlessly with the Finance and Accounts department to ensure the submission of detailed up-to-date internal and external IRFS compliant financial reports as required on an ongoing basis

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provision of financial, administrative and operational information (and such other relevant information as may from time to time be required or deemed necessary) to the Fund;
  • Preparation of and / or participation in the preparation of a business plan(s) for the company’s various vegetables and fruits farming projects and ensuring implementation in line with approved budgets of the same from time to time as may be required;
  • Monitoring the performance of RFL on an ongoing basis against approved programmes and budgets in order to timeously recommend any action the company may need to consider appropriate under its Risk Management processes;
  • Assist executive management to perform evaluations of RFL’s performance in comparison to industry and market trends, including the preparation of comprehensive reports incorporating statistical information and strategic recommendations;
  • Assist in conducting Market Surveys/Due Diligence Investigations; and Implementing policies and procedures to maintain compliance with ARM rules and procedures and to maintain compliance with regulatory statutes and authorities.

Requirements
Educational Qualification:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, Agribusiness Management or related field.
  • Additional vocational qualifications or certifications in related fields will be an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 20 years’ experience in practical large-scale commercial vegetables and fruits farming operations and a proven track record in the private sector.

Technical Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of all facets of large scale irrigated and mechanized commercial vegetables and fruits farming, including but not limited to:
  • Bush clearing
  • Land preparation
  • Mechanization and diesel machinery
  • Irrigated vegetable crop production
  • Rainfed vegetable crop and pasture production
  • Vegetable processing and marketing.
