Save the Children is looking for experienced development professionals to work within the Nigeria Country Programme. These roles will be critical for the delivery of results for children expected by this programme.

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Child Protection in Emergencies Officer

Job Description
  • This position is responsible for assessment, response analysis, design and implementation of the child protection components of Save the Children (SC) Nigeria's emergency response.
  • S/he will need to coordinate with other Emergency Response team members and SC staff, especially Implementation Management, health, education and other relevant technical sectors, to ensure a rapid, proportionate and effective response.
Qualifications
  • Candidate should have a university degree in Law, International Law, political Sciences or related field with good knowledge of International Refugee, Human Rights and Humanitarian Law;
  • S/he should have minimum of 5 years (of which at least 3 in the field) of progressively responsible professional experience in child protection, humanitarian affairs, human rights, and related fields;
  • Good knowledge and understanding of DO NO HARM principles and established international child protection standards (especially UNCRC);
  • Experience with participatory approaches to protection, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management. or other related area.
  • Good communication skills and knowledge of local languages especially in Hausa.
