Kwara State College of Education - The college Governing Council invites suitably qualified candidates for appointment to the position of the Provost, candidates must demonstrate evidence of strong academic, professional and administrative competence; initiative and creativity in policy formulation and implementation; ability to form good human relations and positive managerial attributes.

Duties
  • The Provost is the Chief Executive and Academic head of the College and his responsible for the execution of the policy decisions of the Council as well as the day-today administration of the College.
  • He/She is responsible for the maintenance of discipline among the Students and members of staff also for day-to-day expenditure for the maintenance of the College.
  • He /She is expected to foster good relationships with relevant bodies and to provide a quality of leadership that will help the College attain the status of a centre of excellence.
Qualifications
  • Candidates must possess at least a master degree from a recognized university in a field relevant to the College. Possession of a Ph.D will be an advantage. The professional teaching qualification (minimum of NCE or PGDE) is mandatory.
  • Candidates must have held senior teaching, research and administrative posts in an institution of higher learning for a minimum of eight (8) years. Candidates must show evidence of a good track record in result-oriented research.
  • Candidates must not be below the rank of Chief Lecturer in the College of Education system or Reader/Associate Professor in a University.
  • iv. Candidates must have initiative and creativity in policy formulation and a track record of management achievement
  • Experience in academic and administrative leadership In the College of Education system shall be an added advantage
  • Being ICT compliant will be an added advantage.
Condition of Service
The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post in Nigerian Colleges of Education and as may be determined from time to time by the Governing Council of the College as appropriate. The appointment is for a single non - renewable term of five (5) years.
