The Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt, formally known as Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), was established in October, 1980 from the Rivers State College of Science and Technology, which was itself established in 1972. It is located at Nkpolu-Oroworukwo in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, Nigeria. It is the first Technological University in Nigeria and the first state owned State University in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. The motto of the University is "Excellence and Creativity".

We are recruiting candidates for the Departments below:

• Department of Anatomical Pathology
• Department of Chemical Pathology
• Department of Kaematology and Blood Transfusion
• Department of Medical Microbiology.
• Department of Pharmacology

Qualifications

• Candidate must be holder of Ph.D in the relevant field with not less than 5 years cognate teaching and research experience in the University system.
• In the Clinical Sciences, candidates must have a Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons / Physicians (FWACS/FWACP) or National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) or their equivalent.
• He/she must have outstanding teaching ability and effectiveness as a University lecturer.
• The candidate must have a reasonable number of scholarly publications in reputable journals.
• He/She must be able to initiate and carry out independent research work and also supervise students' research project up to the doctoral level.

Conditions of Service

• Successful candidates will be required to assume duty as soon as possible and will be on probation for the first three (3) years. Thereafter, they will retire at the approved age of 65 years.
• Candidates could be allowed to transfer their service to the Rivers State University.
• Other conditions are similar to those obtained in other institutions of higher learning in Nigeria.

Salary
CONUASS 5 (N6,700,768.00 - N9,073,566.00) annually.
