We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Team Leader, Deployment / Site Supervision (Rural Telephony)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Job Type: Full-time · Mid-Senior level

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with installation instructions and manuals, including site installation documentation (SID) provided by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) on how to install telecoms equipment.
  • Conduct pre-implementation and pre-installation inspection. Carry out verification and quality assurance (QA) activities post-installation.
  • Perform full scope of integration activities, including pre-site preparation, configuration for appropriate network elements, and integration of applicable nodes to the core network.
  • Produce appropriate configuration data as required during testing and integration.
  • Apply understanding of system/ network design principles. Implement and troubleshoot configuration of new elements into the system and its interfaces to gain resolution of any problems.
  • Document and include test results and log files in handover documentation for presentation to the accountable project manager.
  • Provide accurate status information on implementation and installation progress.
  • Take corrective action towards site build contractors’ (SBCs’) teams if deviation from quality and lead-time is apparent.
  • Organize escalation procedures for problems to ensure that they are dealt with by appropriate functions.
  • Maintain an inventory database.
  • Oversee acceptance test procedures, utilizing the company’s acceptance checklists to ensure the installed radio access network (RAN) conforms to customers’ requirements.
  • Ensure SBCs comply with the company’s HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) rules/ standards.
  • Drive any required change control process during the deployment phase.
  • Mentor team members on RAN deployment - installation and commissioning processes and procedures.
  • Guide installation and engineering service providers on proper design and installation techniques, procedures, and documentation/reporting.
  • Ensure that SBCs meet all technical specifications with respect to telecom and civil works issues.
  • Provide feedback to SBCs on the work performance, requirements, and recommendations for improvement.

Experience & Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Telecommunications, Engineering, or any other relevant discipline.
  • Plus 5 years’ work experience in performing site supervision activities, overseeing build/ integration/ commissioning of telecoms RANs.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office tools.
