Michael Stevens Consulting - Our client, an extra-ministerial department set-up to oversee the management of pensions for pensioners not transiting to the Defined Contributory Scheme has recently received the mandate to carry out its functions as stipulated by the Pension Reform Act (PRA) 2004.

Job Description
  • Reporting to the Team Lead, Payments this role is primarily responsible for supporting the establishment of payments policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems and ensuring compliance with payment controls.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the development of payment controls to govern payment processes.
  • Provide support for the preparation of all payment vouchers as per procedures
  • Batch payment vouchers together for processing into accounting system.
  • Support the Team Lead to process all payment batches into accounting system as per procedures.
Job Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other Social Science discipline.
  • A minimum of 6 years work experience of which at least 2 years should have been in similar function.
  • Professional accounting certification is mandatory.
Key Competency Requirements:
  • Good financial and accounting knowledge, including in depth understanding of public sector international and Nigerian accounting standards.
  • Experience in financial planning and analysis.
