Michael Stevens Consulting - Our client, an extra-ministerial department set-up to oversee the management of pensions for pensioners not transiting to the Defined Contributory Scheme has recently received the mandate to carry out its functions as stipulated by the Pension Reform Act (PRA) 2004.

Job Title: Senior Analyst, Human Resources

Job Description
  • Reporting to the Deputy Director, Human Resources, this role is primarily responsible for leading the provision of strategic support to the division.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participate in updating the organisation's manpower requirements and translate this into a sourcing and recruitment plan.
  • Conduct training needs assessment as well as develop, organise and roll out of training interventions.
  • Articulate job descriptions for the positions being requested.
  • Assist in developing training calendar, preparing training schedules and communicate such to staff across the organisation.
  • Prepare, update and maintain the database of training programs available in the organisation.
  • Monitor the training and development budget.
  • Be proactive in identifying and addressing employee issues.
  • Coordinate grievance handling and disciplinary proceedings in line with the relevant rules and regulations.
  • Ensure that administration of compensation for the organisation is in compliance with prevailing tax laws and regulations.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of staff compensation details on the payroll system.
  • Monitor and track loan repayments and ensure the timely reconciliation of approved staff loans and benefit requests to repayments.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in the Social Sciences or Humanities.
  • Relevant professional certifications (CIPD, etc) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 6 years work experience in which at least 2 years should be in a similar position.
Key Competency Requirements:
  • Good knowledge of Nigerian labour and employment legislation.
  • Strong appreciation of training design and delivery.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of best practice in employee reward and incentive schemes / packages
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of Integrity, attention to detail and good report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS office tools.
  • Good negotiating and problem solving skills with high level of confidentiality.
  • Good networking & interpersonal skills.
