Michael Stevens Consulting - Our client, an extra-ministerial department set-up to oversee the management of pensions for pensioners not transiting to the Defined Contributory Scheme has recently received the mandate to carry out its functions as stipulated by the Pension Reform Act (PRA) 2004.

The Organisation now seeks to recruit self driven, experienced and motivated individuals to fill the vacant position of:

Job Title: Director, Information Technology

Job Description
  • This role is responsible for partnering with Agency to align company information technology with strategic direction and build IT organization, processes and procedures to support Agency's needs.
  • The Job Holder would report to the Executive Secretary and has oversight of the IT team.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Recommend and plan information technology to support and meet company objectives based on research and evaluation.
  • Direct implementation and execution of information systems via well-defined plans including procedures, deadlines, and accountability.
  • Evaluate and implement IT procedures and equipment for maximum efficiency and cost containment.
  • Ensure provision of professional, courteous, and timely support and service.
  • Structure, lead, train, and develop IT staff for maximum effectiveness.
  • Stay abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain company Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Develop/select and conduct user training on an as-needed basis.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,, Information Technology or related discipline.
  • Relevant professional certifications or qualifications (ITIL, PRINCE 2, PMP, OCP, OCM) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 18 years work experience of which at least 3 years should have been in a management position.
Key Competency Requirements:
  • Demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of IT systems and experience in the administration and management of IT resources.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership/supervisory, coaching and mentoring and people management skills.
  • Structure, lead, train, and develop IT staff for maximum effectiveness.
  • Stay abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain company Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Develop/select and conduct user training on an as-needed basis.
