Job Description

This role is responsible for leading and managing Legal Services and managing institution’s interface with media. Also to ensure that effective legal advice, support and representation that promotes corporate image is provided.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and ensure efficient and effective management of staff and resources in the Communications Department.
  • Ensure the Organisation corporate communications both internal and external are consistent with governing values and objectives.
  • Manage the various aspects of the Organisation’s media relations strategy, including handling of media queries, interviews and press conferences.
  • Implement effective media / public relations and crisis management systems and processes.
  • Ensure strict adherence to defined policies and procedures governing both internal and external information dissemination.
  • Liaise with media and public relations agencies.
  • Handle the planning, organizing and convening of public relations and corporate events.
  • Ensure timely and prompt implementation of the internal communication plan.
Job Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Economics or any relevant discipline.
  • A post graduate / relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 16 years work experience of which at least 3 years in a related function.
Key Competency Requirements
  • A good appreciation of strategies and key concepts in communication management.
  • A good understanding of the Nigerian public sector environment.
