Michael Stevens Consulting - Our client, an extra-ministerial department set-up to oversee the management of pensions for pensioners not transiting to the Defined Contributory Scheme has recently received the mandate to carry out its functions as stipulated by the Pension Reform Act (PRA) 2004.

Job Title: Team Lead, Network Administration Unit

Job Description
  • This role reports to the Deputy Director, Information Technology. The job holder will drive the process of ensuring that all our platforms remain current and are highly available.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Act as a medium between the Liaison Offices and the rest of the department to ensure optimum communication.
  • Assist in liaising with key stakeholders and pension associations
  • Present progress and evaluation reports on the activities of the liaison offices to the Director, Pensioner Support
  • Ensure optimal communication among state liaison offices and the head office as well as the radiation of good practices
  • Ensure the implementation of the organisation's service delivery strategy at all liaison offices
  • Ensure the implementation of the defined framework / strategy for resolving pensioner queries at the Liaison offices including accurate collection, collation and analysis of pensioner data
  • Ensure standardization of service delivery and quality assurance in all Liaison Offices
  • Oversee the definition and execution of strategies and work plans of the state Liaison offices.
Job Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in any discipline preferably in the Social Sciences or Humanities.
  • Professional qualification will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 12 years relevant work experience of which 2 years should have been in a supervisory position.
Key Competency Requirements:
  • Knowledge of regulations, laws and rules governing pension administration in the public sector
  • Knowledge of office productivity tools
  • Good project/program and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to relate with representatives pension associations / unions and stakeholders.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate with diverse people and cultures.
  • Political savvy, maturity and tact including the ability to deal with various interest groups.
  • Good leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Good and demonstrated written and oral communications.
  • Good customer relationship management skills.
