Job Title: Pastry Chef

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Job Details

• Able to create and develop, design, and implement new ideas and desserts in line with changing trends to engage the interest of customers.
• Follow proper handling and right temperature of all food products and ensure subordinates follow Culinary standards and responsibilities.
• Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to the supervisor immediately.
• Assist in determining how cakes should be served and create decorative cake displays.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
• Decorating modern and premium cakes.
• Maintain orderly working station.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, days, afternoons and evenings.
• Preparation and cooking of bakery products to the highest standards to ascertain an efficient food service.
• Assuring that all pastry items are prepared and served according to established standards and practices.
• Minimizing spoilages and utilizing food surpluses.
• Training of his/her personnel on a continuous basis.
• Forwarding suggestions for improvements in raw material, menus, cost savings and equipment.
• Making sure that all buffets are well presented.
• Assuring that all food requests are executed to the fullest satisfaction of the guest in accordance with the Company's policies.
• Be aware of all fire, safety and emergency procedures.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an OND / HND qualification with a minimum of 2 years work experience.
• Candidates living on the island and close to the island should apply.
