Job Title: Finance & Investment Analyst

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Responsible for maintaining accounting records and documents.
  • Preparing Management accounts.
  • Preparing and monitoring the annual budget, computing and monitoring operating ratios, tax management, general ledger management among others.
  • Analyze Client equity and fixed income portfolios.
  • Research current trends and assist with forecasting and making viable projections.
  • The Planning and Management of the Company’s Tax Liability to the various State, FCT and Federal Inland Revenue Services.
  • Prepare daily weekly monthly bank balance reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of cash allocation reports.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual cash flow reports.
  • Prepare financial reports for new initiatives to aid management in decision making.
  • Prepares financial forecast of the business.
  • Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support.
  • Collate and prepare the company’s annual budget.
  • Assist in developing capital and financial planning strategies for policy recommendations.
  • Compile data based on statistical studies and analysis of past and current years to prepare
  • The Computation of Capital Adequacy and other Key Performance Ratios of the Company.
  • The Computation of Monthly Risk-Based Pricing of the Company.
  • The Preparation and Reporting of the monthly and other periodic reports. Reports in CBN-approved formats and through CBN-approved media.
  • The Preparation of quarterly reports.
  • The Preparation of Monthly Management accounts (profit and loss and other comprehensive income, statement of financial position and notes to the accounts.)
  • The Preparation and Monitoring of Annual Budgets for the Company and any amendment thereon.
  • Ensuring the application of relevant accounting standards in the recording and reporting of financial transactions in the Company.
  • Preparation and Interpretation of the Final Accounts.
  • Liaison with External Auditors for the statutory audit of the Company’s financial statements.
  • Liaison with CBN/ NDIC/FMBN during routine examination of the Company.
  • Liaison with internal auditors for periodic routine examination of the department.
  • Management of Insurance scheme for the Company
  • Liaison with other Regulatory organs such as Federal and State Inland Revenue Services during their examination or audit of the Company.
  • Any other Assigned Responsibilities.

Educational Requirements

  • Higher National Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from a recognized academic institution with five (5) years of relevant professional experience;
  • Professional certification as a Chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Financial analysis, Modeling & Statutory Reporting skills.
  • Experience in Accounting, Nigerian Tax, Budgeting and financial Reporting.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is highly imperative
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and procedures, a distinct advantage;
  • High level of computer literacy; experience in computerized accounting environment;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of various asset classes.
  • Sound knowledge of Investment and Risk management fundamentals.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel application.
