In anticipation of a potential award from USAID on the Accelerating Control of the HIV Epidemic in Nigeria (ACE) with focus on the BAY (Borno, Adamawa, Yobe) states, the position below is open for consideration to all qualified candidates:

Job Title: Senior Technical Officer - Health Systems Strengthening / Capacity Development

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with his/her STA will provide coordination, oversight and technical assistance to Field Office staff to ensure that project activities are effectively implemented. S/he will also be involved in designing capacity building and other implementation strategies for stakeholders as well as contributing to program-wide learning. With the Supervision of the STOHSS/CD, S/he will ensure coordinated efforts and a systematic approach to implementing program activities.

Minimum Recruitment Standards

  • MS / MA Degree in Management, Social Sciences or Health Sciences with 5 to 7 years post-national youth service experience with at least 3 years progressive experience in health systems strengthening, health financing, human resource for health management or other related areas
  • MPH or related degree with at least 5 to 7 years post national youth service experience with at least 3 years progressive experience in health systems strengthening, health financing, human resource for health management or other related areas
  • Experience in various forms of capacity development approaches
  • Experience in health systems analysis, health financing (including budgeting and health accounts), human resource for health (including workload analysis), and service delivery required.
