Job Title: Unit Head, Application Development
Location: Lagos

Job Objectives
- Manage the architecting, planning, designing, building and implementation of IT services to meet client and business needs
- Ensure committed portfolio of projects are delivered within agreed constraints
- Ensure compliance with Group policies and procedures during solution development
Supervises:
- Principal Specialist
- Application Development Senior Specialist
- Application Development Specialist
- Application Development Analyst
- Application Development
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the architecting, planning, designing, building and implementation of IT services including new development and major enhancements to existing systems
- Deliver committed portfolio of projects within agreed constraints
- Manage the solution development lifecycle for new / changed services
- Serve as point of escalation, review for key issues and decisions for all solution delivery domains
- Ensure that the tools and environment required for solution development are available and accessible
- Provide high level validation to technical design documents
- Ensure that all security designs and implementations adhere to enterprise security standards
- May contribute to budgeting activities
- Involved in the hiring and development of staff
- Responsible for the appraisal of team members

- Solutions delivery as per organisational standards i.e., policies, architectural standards, etc.
- Quality of business analysis
- Quality of solution design
- Cycle time
- Code stability
- Code simplicity

- Timely release of products and product features
Educational Qualification
- Minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related areas
Professional Qualification:
- Possession of the following certification is recommended: CBAP, MCSD, CSD, CSQA, Microsoft Azure Fundamental and Associate certificates
Desired Experience:
- 10 to 12 years of functional experience and1 – 2 years of management experience.
Competence Requirements:
- IT Solution / Service Development experience
- Experience with SDLC or any comparable solution development lifecycle
- Deep technical expertise and a good understanding of underlying business processes and systems
- High commitment to meet business needs as well as service and operational level requirements
- Good understanding of business and technology domains
- Excellent understanding of the technology stack and how the different pieces fit together
- Solution design and architecting skills
- Experience of working with multiple third-party vendors
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skill
- Communicate in well spoken English.
