Job Title: Teller

Job Description

• To receive and disburse money in the bank. Often involved in processing credit or debit card transactions and validating checks, customers signature and pictures before payment is made.

Job Duties / Roles

• Identify the risk the organization faces and advise them on the nature and diversity of the company’s operations, the complexity and scale of its business and the size and volume of its transactions.
• Accept all deposits and verify endorsements before offering receipt to customers.
• Process withdrawal of cash and currency in the bank.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of the shift to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
• Maintaining the till limit.
• Calculate total payments received during a period and reconcile this with total sales.
• Capture bank transactions promptly and suitably.
• Respond to bank account and product related queries.
• Protect bank operations by maintaining confidentiality of customer information.
• Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
• Identifying damaged or counterfeit notes and coins.
• Promoting the banks loans and services at every opportunity.

Academic Qualification

• Job Holder must possess a minimum of O.N.D or H.N.D in any related field of study.

Work Experience & Skills:

• Bank / Microfinance Bank / Microcredit experience is a plus.
• Can remain focused on details for long periods of time.
• Ability to operate various office and bank telling machines.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• The ability to make calculations quickly and accurately.
• Can quickly interpret complex figures or information.
• Can remain seated for long periods of time.
• Always have a professional appearance.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
