Micheal Stevens Consulting - Our client a group of companies with divested interests seeks to fill the role: GROUP HEAD, HUMAN RESOURCES who will ensure the availability of tailored, focused and value adding HR services that supports the business objective of the Group.

Job Title: Group Head, Human Resources

Location:
Lagos

Key responsibilities:

1.) Formulates people management strategies, policies and processes in line with the Group’s business strategy, key business objectives, core values and applicable labour laws.
2.) Communicates human resources strategy and operating plan to all business units and other functional areas to ensure understanding and commitment.
3.) Directs all matters concerning employment legislation and contract issues to ensure that company liabilities are managed in compliance with relevant laws.
4.) Liaises with all business units and functional heads to determine key performance requirements and ensure delivery of prioritised, tailored and focused HR interventions that add value and meet the Group’s business objectives.
5.) Coordinates the recruitment and selection process to ensure that the Group is adequately staffed by qualified and highly motivated personnel.
6.) Liaises with all business units and functional heads to ensure proper design and implementation of staff training and development plans so as to ensure identified needs are addressed with suitable training interventions.
7.) Defines and maintains a competitive and merit based compensation system in line with Industry best practice while supporting company strategy in attracting and retaining quality and highly motivated staff.
8.) Supervises the administration of staff benefit and welfare schemes.
9.) Develops and provides guidance to Executive management in the implementation of an effective succession planning system to ensure the consistent supply of high calibre staff to fill jobs at senior management level and other positions across the Group.
10.) Reviews and reports on the performance of the HR Function against key performance target.

Person specifications:

1.) First degree in Human Resource Management or any Social Science discipline.
2.) Master’s degree in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.
3.) Relevant Certification in HR e.g. CIPM (Chartered Institute of Personnel Management)or CIPD(Chartered Institute of Personnel Development) or SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) will be an added advantage.
4.) Minimum of 10 years cognate experience, some of which must have been as a senior Management HR role in a Consulting firm or Multinational.
