We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Maintenance Staff

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Overview

  • Maintenance staff will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.

Core Responsibilities and Key Result Areas

  • Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
  • Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
  • Cleans and assists with the upkeep of the facilities.
  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintaining records of any work and inspections done on-premises
  • Performing inventory on repair supplies
  • Keeping repair tools and supplies clean and organized
  • Setting up repair appointments with mechanics or electricians when needed
  • Making and installing new furniture or equipment
  • Ensuring all safety systems are functioning properly, including smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
  • Conducting routine maintenance on equipment and building systems
  • Completing safety checks on systems and equipment
  • Doing pest control, pool maintenance and landscaping
  • Performing general maintenance tasks for the building or buildings, such as window washing, drywall repair, plastering, carpentry, flooring repair, painting and more
  • Detecting, identifying and repairing building issues, like basic problems with the building's electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.

Qualifications 
Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven maintenance experience.
  • Related degree from a technical college/ Trade test.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogues as necessary
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
