Job Title: Procurement Lead

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Brief

• The Procurement Leadis responsible for implementing cost-effective purchases of all goods and services, as required.
• Ensuring quality control and adhering to the company’s policies and procedures on supply chain management

Responsibilities

• Saddled with the overall procurement planning in the organization
• Ensures all purchases go through the approved procurement procedures.
• Suggest alternative standardized materials that can save the organization money.
• Identify new potential suppliers and develop relationships.
• Developing/reviewing procurement processes to meet organizational developmental needs.
• Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
• Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts
• Assess, manage, and mitigate risks
• Raising of LPO through QuickBooks and transmitting same to suppliers
• Vendor/Suppliers Management
• Vendor Registration/Audit
• Preparation of weekly and monthly procurement report and transmitting same to the finance manager
• Monitor supply markets and trends i.e. material price increases, shortages, changes in supply and interpret the impact these trends will have on the organization

Requirements

• B.Sc / HND in Business Management Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics or a related field,
• Five (5) years’ experience in procurement activities
• Membership Certification with CIPS or NISCM
• Advanced Food Safety Certificate
• Minimum 3 years post qualification experience
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
• Talent in negotiations and networking
• Good knowledgeof supplier or third-party management software
• Experience in collecting and analysing data
• Cost Optimisation and Project Management
• Strong decision-making skills and time management skills.
