We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Programme Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Overview

  • Cooper Platform have been subcontracted as lead on strategic communication development & dissemination for a security sector development project and now seeking to engage an individual consultant as Programme Officer to support the Lead Consultant in the management and delivery of the project assignments.

Job Summary

  • The Program Officer is responsible for providing program operations support for the project assignments, administration, logistics, liaises directly with the Finance Officer and supervises the Media Officer.
  • The Program Officer will assist with the design and development of project management, interface with stakeholders, suppliers and vendors. The Program Officer shall monitor project scopes of work and timelines.
  • The Program Officer will report to the Lead Consultant, learns about the project assignments to provide the required support.

Essential Functions

  • Support the development of communication materials and tools to be used for the project strategic communication approaches.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring work plans as well as associated deliverables and results/outputs.
  • Prepare, coordinate reviews, edit, and disseminate project related reports or documents, as well as provide regular progress updates.
  • Organise, facilitate, and report on all project related meetings and workshops to relevant stakeholders and follow up on any action.
  • Prepare terms of reference, agreements or Memoranda of Understanding for suppliers and vendors. Provide quality assurance for all deliverables.
  • Oversee all domestic project related travel processes. Seek any necessary Client approvals for travel.
  • Create and maintain the projects’ SharePoint site(s) and assist with project related information management.
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance Officer to develop, monitor, track and analyze expenditures compared to project budget.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders on various operational, technical and project areas, as well related personnel issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree in Mass Communication or related field with a minimum of 2 years of program management experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication or related field with at least 4 years of experience.
  • Experience in communication, media, administration, management, logistics and operations.
  • Experience with development agencies or nongovernmental organization highly desirable.
  • Comfortable working in teams as well as acting independently in the implementation of specific tasks, multitasking and prioritizing, working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of people of various nationalities and cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including editing skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
