GE Energy recently signed an MOU with the Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Power. The purpose of the MoU is to jointly develop 10GW over 10 years with the Fed govt of Nigeria and Private sector power developers. The MOU Development team lead implementation of the MOU by originating, structuring & execution of incremental power generation projects which will drive profitable growth for GE Energy in Nigeria. Development will include external partnering initiatives as well as internally focused efforts.

Role Summary/Purpose:
  • The Market Insights Analyst is responsible for analyzing business, economic, social, geo-political and customer trends in the African market and translating them to GE opportunity and action.
  • The person will also be responsible for building strategic blueprints, go to market strategies, and market development activities through key customer engagements.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for market research, market analytics and competitive intelligence, supporting GE's market understanding
    Partner with global and local marketing teams to create and validate strategic roadmaps and go to market strategies
    Work with GE business commercial teams to identify & prioritize new entitlement opportunities (above and beyond business as usual), based on an understanding of customer strategy and investment priorities, gathered through Voice of Customer
    Build understanding of market opportunity for prioritized initiatives to support investment business case creation
    Lead key customer engagements to understand their needs to develop GE sales opportunities through our solutions/offerings
    Manage and interact with external and internal partners including consultants/research vendors as necessary
    Quickly build an in-depth understanding of GE's offerings
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or other appropriate subject.
  • 5+ years' experience in strategic/product marketing, market research and/or business analysis
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills - ability to interpret large amounts of information from a variety of complex data sources
  • Good business acumen - ability to exploit a range of commercial evaluation techniques, translate analysis into commercial opportunities and identify potential new business models
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills - able to work effectively internally and externally with all levels of leadership and in a matrix environment
  • Proven project management skills - able to deliver project on time and coordinate effectively matrix teams to achieve highest impact
  • Strong communication and presentation skills - clearly and concisely present analysis and recommendations at all levels of leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure & meet deadlines
  • Outstanding teamwork - able to work well with diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Adaptable/flexible: open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or ambiguous situations
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
