An international development organization is seeking Driver/Logistic Officer for a multi year development program in Nigeria. The program focuses on facilitating the development and financing of renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) markets: strengthen the current policy and regulatory environment for public and private sector investment and develop and enhance the capacity of key stakeholders including financial institution, RE and EE firms.
Responsibilities
- Driving to the airport to pick up or drop off staff and goods
- Driving volunteers and staff on assignment to different parts of Nigeria
- Maintaining a vehicle log book and record all trips made with the official vehicle
- Making sure the official vehicle undergoes ready maintenance checks, vehicle servicing at designated and certified dealers.
- Conveying staff to official meetings
- Organizing vehicle registration /renewals of license, insurance, road worthiness in compliance to the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO).
- Submitting monthly or quarterly reports on he upkeep of the vehicle, the period of the reports will be subject at the discretion of he Chief of Party.
- Filling out travel authorization for each trip, drafting of 1 or 2 page report on the vehicle after each round trip
- Responsible for calculating monthly mileage and use of diesel.
- Monitoring of Maintenance and service intervals of the official vehicle
- Making deliveries of letters and parcels and doing minor purchases
- Any other assignment by the Chief of Party
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- Knowledge of traffic rules and skills in minor vehicle maintenance
- Good ability to read and speak English and Hausa as well as good interpersonal skills
- Hospitable and service oriented
- Minimum of 7 years experience as a professional driver
- Experience as Driver with a diplomatic mission or an international organization
- GCE O Levels, a higher academic qualification will be an added advantage
