Job Title: Platform Developer
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
- The Digital Platform Developer is responsible for the design, build and management of digital platforms on which digital products are offered to CMB’s prospects and customers.
- The Developer will also be responsible for the development of services and APIs for external 3rd party integrations. He/she will work closely with outsourced teams responsible for digital platform development and will serve in a supervisory role in these engagements while also assisting with support and development work.
Job Description
- Formulates and defines system scope and objectives for assigned projects.
- Assist with technical guidance for vendor selection and management
- Establishes procedures to solve complex problems regarding platform capacity and limitations, operating time, and output
- Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written
- Designs, codes, tests, debugs, maintains and documents efficient, reusable, and reliable code written with respect to the digital platform
- Create database schemas that represent and support business processes
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation
- Follow emerging technologies
- Collaborate with other team members to build state of the art solutions
- Performs at an advanced technical level and understands all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle
- Responsible for quality assurance review of assigned project
- Manage any other responsibility as assigned by line manager
Education and Experience
- Minimum of a First Degree or its equivalent in a business /IT related discipline, Master's Degree in an appropriate field of study will be an added advantage
- 4+ years professional experience in professional web development, experience working on a variety of software development projects
- Work experience in DevOps and as a full-stack developer
- Fluent in JavaScript (and frameworks), Python, PHP
- Experience working with ESB, API Management / Gateway software
- Knowledge of RESTful API standards and protocols and API development using REST/JSON and SOAP/XML Web services.
- Experience with professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews
- Source control management, build processes, testing and operation.
