Job Title: Business Development Manager (Telecom)

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Department: Commercial
Reports To: CCO

Job Purpose

  • Developing growth strategies and plans for the business. Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients and Increasing client base.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Contacting potential customers to establish rapport and arrange business meetings
  • Assisting the Chief Commercial Officer to oversee the development of practical commercial strategies
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
  • Writing business proposals for customers and new business opportunities
  • Researching business opportunities, developing growth strategies and plans
  • Working closely with the Project stakeholders to define project deliverables, risks, cost and schedules while identifying and leveraging resources in order to satisfy the business needs.
  • Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs
  • Identifying sales leads and pitching all telecommunications infrastructure services as well as fibre connectivity services to new and existing customers
  • Defining and negotiating customers Manage Lease Agreements (MLAs) as well as addendums
  • Evaluating service solutions for their commercial merits and provide appropriate recommendations based on ROI (return on investment) Providing fibre to tower services to new and existing customers
  • Determining the appropriates rates for delivering fibre connectivity to customers
  • Contributing to commercial contracts review and ensuring adherence to contractual obligations by all parties involved
  • Employing negotiating strategies leveraging industry best practices and competitor intelligence
  • Keeping abreast of new business, commerce and technology trends in the industry.
  • Using Microsoft packages to analyse and prepare reports based on comparative performance among several mobile network infrastructure service providers taking key performance indexes into consideration
  • Making presentations to customers providing suggestions on the location of new mobile sites and adjustments to maximize or expand the installed capacity to enhance customer experience
  • Perform other relevant duties to be assigned from time to time.

Key Performance Indicators - KPI (Performance Measures & Targets)

  • Get service orders from customers for the targeted number of sites
  • Ensure Integration of Customers on the targeted number of RFI sites
  • Implement min 80% of the business development plan
  • Customer satisfaction rating of min. 70% from monthly surveys
  • Submit fibre to tower and other business development plans by end of November of each Financial year 6. Develop competitive rate cards for fibre to tower services.

Academic Qualifications (Minimum)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
  • Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the related field
  • Suitable candidates must be an expert in Telecom Fibre to Tower and must be experienced in the telecom industry.
  • Other Qualifications (Professional exams, member of relevant professional association etc): N/A.

Knowledge:

  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive, or a relevant role
  • Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy Experience working to and exceeding target
  • Experience in providing fibre to tower services.

Required Skills & Competencies (Technical and Soft Skills):

  • Experience in customer support is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Proficiency in English Market knowledge
  • Communication and negotiation skills Ability to build rapport
  • Time management and planning skills
  • The ability to self-motivate and motivate a team.
