Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE) is earnestly soliciting for individuals for a 5-year USAID funded project called 'Local Partner for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (LOPIN) Project for Anambra and Imo State,' hereafter called "LOPIN"

WEWE is an indigenous Nigerian NGO with a vision to be the top ranking and leading organization in orphans and vulnerable children's programming in Nigeria and Africa in the next 5 years.

WEWE has been authorized by the US Agency for International Development ("USAID" or "donor") to implement this project under a cooperative agreement.

WEWE is recruiting to fill the below position:

Job Title: Communication lnformation Officer

Location: Abuja, Lokogoma, FCT

Qualifications and skills
WEWE is earnestly looking for individuals who are:
  • Highly skilled, talented, naturally gifted, very hardworking, upwardly mobile and upcoming, yethumbleandOorifearing.
  • Ranks top in their field who have ‘significant prize winning achievements’, one who has won merit awards, one who has been awarded the best employee of the year in their current or previous organization and has significantly contributed to their organization’s successful performance with documented evidence to prove this (Applicants should list their awards and prizes in their CV for easy of references.
  • Were the best student in their class or NYSC with evidence to prove this: evidence such asa certificate and corresponding professional referees who can confirm this. Intelligent if you have a high grade point average, second class upper or first class for Polytechnic/College/University
  • Willing to live in Owerri, mo Slate,Anambra state orAbuja for 5 yeers depending in the location of the position
  • Willing to travel frequently to WEWE LOPIN office in Anambra, Imo State and Abuja FCT
  • A minimum of a university degree or equivalent in English, Linguistics, Library Science, social sciences, mass communication orjournalist or related fields
  • A minimum of 5 yearn’ experience in communications, information science and knowledgemanegemenl
  • Extremely strong computer skills, with knowledge of relevant publishing software such as but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Ms. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Desktop Publishing (Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop, POE, illustrator, lnDesigrr CorelDraw, Serif Page Plus), Media Production (including audio and video documentary Adobe Media Suite). Social Media Campaigns (Facebook,Twitter, Youtube, Linkedln), Website Design and Content Management (Joomla, WordPress, Adobe Dreamweaver, Firefox), Professional Photography with ability to use graphics
  • Extremely strong writing and oral in English language with particular skill strong scientific end research writing skills
  • Apostgrsduatedegree ins relevantfield related to publishing and editorial work
Experience Required:
Highly skilled and experienced in:
  • editing technical and scientifIc documents and articles (proofreading, copy and line editing and substantive editing);
  • desktop design and layout of technical documents in compliance with donor branding and marking requirements,
  • outreach and events coordination with experience in developing press release, media coverage, press fact sheets, developing scene setters, liaise with US Embassy public affairs units and manage print, radio and TV media relation journalists and webs’ite information management
  • Identifying and effectively communicating project success through messages using by developing success stories, case studies, short documentaries, website, consortium websites, social media sites, dailIes, community and state radios, television, various development sites, and appropriate conferences.
