Responsibilities

• Developing procurement strategies and frame work agreements that are inventive and cost-effective.
• Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
• Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
• Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.  
• Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
• Monitoring the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
• Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.
• Preparing procurement report.
• Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on purchasing activities
• Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the purchasing strategy.
• Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost.
• Proactively contribute to creating a good team atmosphere.
• Supervise and manage and appraise the purchasing department staff

Desired Skills and Experience

• B.Sc. in Business / Commercial or Manufacturing / Engineering is preferred
• Minimum of 10 years experience with 5 years in the Marine sector
• Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CPIS) or related certification in Procurement and supply-chain management.
• Proven experience in a purchasing management role within the marine environment
• Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
• Contract management and supplier experience
• Project management experience
• Knowledge and technical understanding of Marine equipment.
