Job Title: Regional Business Development Manager - West Africa

Job Description
Core Purpose:
This position will be based in Ghana and will report with to the Group Business Development Executive. To expand GIBB's business opportunities and deliver revenue in an assigned region through business development, sales and contracting activities and converting opportunities into firm work for delivery by operations in West Africa ( Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Cameroon). This would be relevant for the following core markets:
  • Power and Energy
  • Hydro Power (Dams and Tunneling)
  • Transportation (Roads, Rail, Airports, Ports)
  • Integrated Infrastructure (Bulk Services, Water Sanitation, Housing, Health)
  • Environmental Services
Key Responsibilities
  • Targeting and Developing relationships with new clients in targeted African countries.
  • Drive brand awareness for GIBB in selected in region.
  • Submission of winning tenders and proactively creating opportunities.
  • Submission of winning Expression Interest bids (EOI's).
  • Successful growth of the business in the region.
  • Proactively develop a tangible pipeline of opportunities in the region.
  • Coordination of business development activities on the continent with other GIBB regional hub.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relations with all GIBB's business sectors and project delivery teams.
  • Timeous reporting of regional activities to Africa Desk
  • Proactively working with Sector BDMs to develop and close opportunities in the region
  • Management of all key stakeholders in the region(DFI's Govt, Clients)
  • Establish working standards that are aligned with GIBB's corporate culture, vision and values.
  • Market research and client/country/project analysis to determine the marketing plan and business approach for the region
  • Monitor and report on the success of regional marketing initiatives and their impact on GIBB's growth and development
Minimum Requirements
  • B.Sc Engineering/BCom Management or Marketing
  • Post graduate qualification(MBA,MBL) would be an added advantage
  • 10 years of work experience
  • 5 years of business development experience and/or marketing experience
  • 5 years of experience within the Built environment
  • Experience working in other African countries would be a core advantage.
  • Willingness to relocate and to travel extensively within Africa
  • Fluency in Swahili, French or Portuguese would be advantageous
