University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES), Umuagwo, Imo State is a public University established by an Act of Imo State Parliament Law No. 4 of 2019 and Amended Law No. 7 of 2020, official Gazette No. 20, Vol. 44. The University is approved and licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) as the 49th State University in Nigeria and 171st in the Federation, to run 29 programmes under five Faculties: Agriculture; Engineering; Environmental Sciences; Science and Computing; and Arts, Social and Management Sciences.

Job Title: University Librarian

Location: Umuagwo, Imo

The Position

• The University Librarian is a Principal Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration of the University library and the coordination of the library services in the University.

Qualifications

• Candidates must possess a good honours Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division, Master's and Doctorate Degree in Library or Information Science or related field from a recognized University.
• Candidate must also have at least Ten (10) years experience in an academic library as well as cataloguing and automation experience.
• A strong proof of continuing research with appreciable evidence of scholarly publications both in quality and quantum in reputable international and national journals is required.
• Candidate must be able to provide academic and administrative leadership.
• The candidate should not be below the rank of a Deputy University Librarian.

Salary and Conditions of Service
The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of University Librarian of State Universities and as may be determined from time-to-time by the Governing Council as appropriate subject to the provisions of the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Edict of Imo State Law No.4 of 2019 and No. 7 of 2020 as amended.
