Job Title: Head, Human Resources

Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Overview

  • The main function of this role is to implement the business HR strategy, overseeing the effective management and co-ordination of the HR function to meet the needs of the entire business, including but not limited to; recruitment and selection, learning and development, talent management, succession planning, employee well-being, discipline, grievance, and any other HR related issues.

The Role

  • Developing and implementing HR initiatives in line with company objectives
  • Lead, develop and motivate the HR team to ensure the delivery of a highly effective HR service
  • Liaising directly with leadership team and being accountable for the performance of the HR function, as well as providing strategic counsel on all people matters
  • Contributing to long-term goals around business and people development, including taking oversight of the company’s culture
  • Provide company-wide information by interpreting people data and analyzing figures on staff turnover, cost per hire, workforce trends etc.
  • Maintain, establish, and implement appropriate HR policies, systems, and processes to support the business
  • Ensuring a fair, progressive, and competitive approach to benefits and reward
  • Build on a culture that rewards excellence and doesn’t tolerate mediocrity
  • Provide support to the L&D team in designing and implementing employee, manager and leadership training programs, ensuring employees are getting the opportunities to progress their careers and understand clearly what’s required to grow

The Person

  • Minimum of HND / BSc with a minimum of 10 years HR experience
  • Relevant professional certificate e.g., CIPM, CIPD, SMRM etc. is mandatory
  • A seasoned HR Generalist with previous experience of leading HR function for at least 5 years
  • Proven track record of translating organizational strategy into pragmatic HR solutions
  • Experience developing strong, proactive, and collaborative working relationships
  • Sound knowledge, understanding and practical application of employment law and HR best practices.

  • Able to think strategically, problem solve and demonstrate operational skills
  • Good communication, interpersonal and proven organizational skills
  • Able to influence and build relationships with senior management
  • Proactive and self-driven with an excellent work ethic
  • Able to deal with challenging situations calmly and effectively.
