Microcredit Officer at Operation Smile Foundation

Operation Smile Foundation (OSF) provides basic business Credit extension in a manner that, the under employed and marginalized rural and urban groups and individuals can create or expand their businesses by planning and managing themselves to generate income for their families/households. The objective is to liberate rural women and youth from economic marginalization in a manner that they would own their means of livelihood.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Microcredit Officer

Location: Owerri, Imo
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Contact potential customers, conduct sensitization and mobilization of customers/clients with the right information and form them into acceptable groups for operation smile foundation.
• Achieve set targets of group mobilization, savings mobilization, disbursement etc.
• Train the group (s) formed on the modalities of OSF activities.
• Supervise the group meetings on their meeting days.
• Keep the right group records in the designated books and update same weekly as required.
• Collect group savings (voluntary and mandatory) from the groups on the meeting days and deposit same into designated ……… bank account on same day.
• Conduct verification exercise of every potential customer’s business and confirm the information provided by the customer on his/her loan request form.
• Collect loan request form from group members and submit same to the office for the necessary actions.
• Disburse approved loan to group members with the support of other staffs.
• Collect group loan repayment from the groups on the meeting days and deposit same into designated bank account on same day.
• Submit weekly report of activities to the office (Manager) for consideration and actions.
• Report to the manager of irregularities associated to any group within the shortest possible time.
• Join the OSF team in carrying out baseline assessment of customers and in the capacity training of assessed groups.
• Attend regular strategic review meetings, as maybe directed by operations manager.
• Carry out other duties as maybe assigned by the operations manager.

Requirements

• OND / HND / B.Sc Degree with 1 - 5 years relevant work experience.
