Job Title: Subsurface Engineer

Locations: Delta, Lagos and Rivers

Job Description

  • Subsurface Engineer is responsible for technical analysis and planning for well abandonments, including execution method, equipment requirements, cost analysis, detailed well design, internal and external approvals, etc.

Responsibilities
Support technical and execution planning activities relating to well abandonment, including:

  • Well P&A philosophy development
  • Rig based versus rigless evaluation and accommodation support selection
  • Detailed P&A design
  • Wellwork execution planning, including logistic support planning
  • Project cost and schedule estimate development
  • Support development of project deliverables relating to well abandonment, as required, including:
  • Regulatory engagement plan and associated regulatory authorization submissions
  • WellWork execution plans, including but not limited to NORM management and disposal and WellWork Management of Change (MOC)
  • WellWork reports including key performance indicators (safety, NPT, cost, etc.) to track/report progress and trends.
  • Cost and Schedule estimates
  • Internal and external stakeholder communications and review packages
  • Other project execution planning deliverables as required
  • Supports wellwork execution by WellWork Operations team
  • Participates in related workshops, strategy sessions, schedule development, etc.

Skills & Experience

  • Engineering Degree
  • Strong SSE / WellWork technical skills, particularly in the area of well abandonment
  • Strong project management corporate controls skills
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, coordination, planning, and interface skills
  • Significant experience in well abandonment planning
  • Broad knowledge of Industry standards, specifications, and work processes
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
  • Considerable related experience.
