The Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN) is a quality assurance organ of the Federal Republic of Nigeria established in 1953 for the purpose of coordinating and overseeing the training and practice of the Veterinary profession in the country. The Council also runs a Postgraduate College of Veterinary Surgeons (CVSN). It has its headquarter in Abuja with offices in the six geo-political zones.

Job Title: Registrar

Location: Abuja

The Role

  • The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer and Secretary to Council.
  • He/She keeps custody of the seal of the Council, the Register of names and addresses of members and records of veterinary practices and premises.
  • He/She is responsible to the President of Council.

Qualifications
Possession of the following qualifications:

  • A Degree in Veterinary Medicine from a recognized University;
  • Full registration with the Veterinary Council of Nigeria with a current Practicing Licence;
  • NYSC discharge certificate or certificate of exemption;
  • At least a Master’s Degree in any specialty of Veterinary Medicine and Fellowship of the College of Veterinary Surgeons Nigeria (CVSN);
  • A demonstrable computer knowledge;
  • A Post-graduate Degree or Diploma in Administration is an advantage.
  • At least 15 years post-registration cognate experience.
  • At least 10 years of administrative experience in an organization employing not less than twenty (20) people.
  • Provide three (3) referees who will send confidential letters.

Conditions of Service

  • Four (4) years Tenure and renewable for another four (4) years once.
