Human Capital Partners (HCP) - Our client, a Building Construction Company in Lagos, Nigeria, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accounting / Finance Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• To ensure timely preparation of financial information which provides a complete and accurate picture of the Company’s financial position
• To ensure accuracy and integrity of the accounting records
• To co-ordinate the analysis and synthesis of the Company’s financial and non-financial information which provides a basis for sound business decisions by executive management
• To protect the Company’s interest by ensuring that relevant statutory and regulatory reports/returns regarding the Company’s financial affairs are generated on a timely basis
• To implement effective tax planning strategies for the company and ensure full compliance with relevant tax laws.
• Oversee the execution of the Company’s budgeting and budgetary control process to achieve the agreed corporate objectives
• Supervise the implementation of budgetary mechanisms to proactively identify and manage budget/ performance variances by the business sectors
• Oversee the preparation of the Company’s annual budget and monitor the implementation to minimize overruns and achieve the desired objectives
• Authorize major expenditure/ transactions in line with the Company’s approved authority limits
• Periodically review key Company Finance activity and performance reports and take appropriate action to ensure the Company’s business objectives are achieved
• Provide annual budget figures for all the company’s projects
• Ensure monitoring and provision of monthly variance and budget gap reports
• Revision of budget when required
• Obtain approval for the annual budget and individual project budget.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualification: First Degree or its equivalent in a numerate discipline, MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
• Minimum Experience: 10 years’ relevant experience in financial management/ accounting of which at least five (5) must have been at a strategic management level
• Professional Membership: ICAN etc required.
