Human Capital Partners (HCP) - Our client, a Building Construction Company in Lagos, Nigeria, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: General Manager

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day administration of the Company.
• Initiate and implement an organisational structure, as well as operational systems, processes, and internal controls that drive efficient and smooth running of the business.
• Drive the development of annual operating plans including business plans, operational requirements, staffing and budgets that support the Company’s strategic plan.
• Ensure efficient materials, resource and personnel management.
• Review and approve key expenditures/transactions in line with operational budgets and the Company’s priorities.
• Prepare SLAs in collaboration with other units and in line with business requirements; with the aim of achieving operational efficiency and timeliness in service delivery.
• Monitor business profitability and suitable margins to ensure market competitiveness, value differentiation and sustainability.
• Manage the Company’s resources to generate strong revenue growth and profitability in line with the mission and vision for the business.
• Ensure budget approval and internal control mechanisms are in place to ensure budget compliance and cost optimization.
• Review the Company’s performance against set targets, and define and monitor action plans for improvement.
• Ensure project viability and feasibility.

Requirements

• A minimum of fifteen (12) years’ cognate experience, and five (5) years of which must have been at Senior Management level.
• Strong financial capabilities, including working capital management, analysis of financial data and development of KPI reports.
• Outstanding leadership, negotiating and influencing skills.
• Excellent customer orientation, entrepreneurial flair, analytical skills, commercial knowledge and business acumen.
• Excellent knowledge of company organizational structure, processes, internal controls, and operations.
• Excellent presentation, facilitation and communication skills.
• Good exposure and international outlook.
• Strong business ethics and high level of integrity.
