Job Title: Assistant Manager, Compensation and Benefits

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The assistant Manager, Compensation and Benefits will report to the Head of Human Resources and will be responsible evaluating and improving existing compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Identify trends and implements new practices in line with the employee value proposition to engage and motivate employees
  • Conduct research on employee satisfaction (e.g., using surveys and quantitative data)
  • Develops and implements new compensation and benefits programs (e.g., bonus, incentive, employee wellness, and performance management programs) policies, and procedures that support the employee value proposition and comply with current legislation.
  • Engages with and manages third-party services to negotiate benefit plans and resolve benefit-related issues.
  • Keeps track of prevailing pay rates and recommends competitive compensation plans
  • Structure compensation in ways that will yield the highest value for the organization
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of employee benefit programs
  • Track compensation and benefits benchmarking data
  • Supports the HR team with recruitment and talent management activities.
  • Manage junior HR employees and daily operations related to compensation and benefits activities.
  • Supports in the preparation budgets, reports, and presentations for the HR unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Relations, Social Sciences, Personnel Resources Management or Sciences.
  • Qualified CIPM / CIPD / SHRM or a registered member
  • Master's Degree in Human Resources or MBA is an added advantage
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ previous experience in compensation and benefits
  • Prior experience in Human Resources operations and knowledge of best practices
  • Good understanding of full cycle hiring process
  • Familiarity with current employment rules and regulations
  • Hands on experience with Human Resources software: e.g.: Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Active Decision-making skills,
  • Ability to function independently
  • Good negotiation skills.
