We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Breeder Site Coordinator

Location: Ajase-Ipo, Kwara
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Objective

  • To lead the achievement of strong performance in the set production and financial targets by optimizing the available human and material resources in the most cost-efficient manner
  • To contribute to the attainment of the company’s strategic objectives by constantly improving on the production efficiency targets, approved policies, procedures, programs and blue print across the sub units.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the breeding operations in assigned section or phase of the farm by:

  • Ensuring the necessary requirement for each batch is provided for prior to stocking
  • Ensure proper management and control of staff under your section
  • Ensure proper management of flock under your section.
  • Make sure the existent bio-security measure/policy is strictly adhered to.
  • Coordination of daily activities for optimum performance of your staff, equipment and the flocks.
  • Ensure every problem is adequately analyzed to understand the root cause and give your recommendation to the Breeder Manager for positive response.
  • Maintenance of farm equipment and facilities under your section.
  • Supervision and monitoring of the cleaning team for absolute conformity to the standard
  • Confirm the readiness of the pen with checklist prior to stocking
  • Ensure weekly assessment of your farm operation officer based on the performance of the stock and operatives they are managing.
  • Make sure the weekly performance objective for each batch is observed with all alacrity and report same to the manager on weekly basis
  • Ensure accurate and adequate reporting of daily activities to your line manager in relation to:
    • Flock population, health status and mortality (causes and corrective action taken)
    • Input requisition and utilizations
    • Production and Financial Performances
  • Providing innovative ideas that can facilitate achievement of the operational business objectives.
  • Contribute to the coaching and mentoring of reporting officers and trainees by providing technical/professional guidance towards their capacity development.
  • Participate in coordination of weekly meeting to evaluate performance of respective sections or flock under the unit.
  • Ensure good maintenance of all farm equipment and facilities in your section.
  • Carry-out other functions that may be assigned to you by management from time-to-time in attainment of the department goals

Educational Qualifications / Experience

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from a recognized university.
  • Professional Qualification will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 2 years cognate experience
