Job Summary:

Our client is looking for a candidate that will be responsible for providing sound financial advice to the Company's, MD/CEO and other Senior Management colleagues. S/he will provide an effective financial management service to the Company and act as the leading interface between management and board on financial matters.

Responsibilities:
  • Review the Company's regulations, highlighting the key imperatives for the Finance Department and developing an effective and compliant service delivery model for the department.
  • Plan and develop strategies for providing and maintaining highly effective Finance Department in line with corporate vision and mission, as well as in compliance with the Company&'s regulations.
  • Formulate and develop standards, policies and guidelines for Finance and Treasury services within the Company including chart of accounts, authority limits, invoice verification, expense ratios, reporting requirements, etc, in alignment with professional practice and regulations laid down by the governing authority and best standards.
  • Develop budget template for all departments and collate related information.
  • Review resource needs for the department, propose budget to top Management and monitor and control approved budget.
  • Consolidate corporate business plans, assess the financial implications, consider the appropriateness of the underlying assumptions and advise Executive Management of trade-offs in options in financial terms and in the interest of the Company and in alignment with the Company's regulations.
  • Work closely with MD/Chief Executive Officer and Finance team in respect of fundraising and advice on the likely financial consequences of all proposed courses of action.
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure the availability of funds required to finance the Company's operations, business plans and budgets.
  • Advise MD/CEO on major financial issues which arise and which are outside the agreed boundaries of the Company for example, a proposed major new fundraising initiative or a contract for service provision.
  • Provide accounting services for use by Leads in planning and controlling the work and projects of the Company including financial accounting, management accounting, forecasting, budgeting and control systems.
  • Continuously review accounting policies and standards within the Company and recommend improvements to meet operations of all Managers on the site.
  • Develop financial accounting templates, formats and spreadsheet for use by registered operators on site.
  • Advise management on structuring registration fees and other payment expected from operators on site over the years.
  • Develop framework for providing financial advisory services and other operational support under an outsource model to other operators on site.
  • Provide finance support services to Legal Department in support of related operations and the Foundation, with a view to enabling them accomplish their set goals and objectives.
  • Implement continuous financial control systems (including financial information control to monitor the performance of the Company its flow of funds, adherence to the budget, expenditures, income and other budgetary items.
  • Prepare statutory annual and regulatory accounts in accordance to existing regulatory standards (e.g. IFRS), requirements of the Company governing regulations and requirements.
  • Prepare and present to the Board of Directors financial statements and reports as required by all pertinent laws and regulations in the business area and as deemed necessary and demanded from time to time by the Board of Directors.
  • Maintain contact and healthy business relationship with bankers, investment managers, pension advisers and auditors.
  • Evaluate, track and manage the development and performance of team members, to ensure productivity and achievement of business results.
  • Evaluate financial proposals based on agreed principles on behalf of the Management on various projects being considered with third parties or other operators on the site.
  • To represent Management on Board of Director position in various Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) and Joint Venture Operations with third parties.
  • Establish, maintain and manage the financial processes, policies, controls and records.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial/accounting and operational standards.
  • Any other relevant tasks assigned by the Managing Director (MD).
Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in Accounting, Economics, Finance or any related course.
  • Professional Finance/Accounting Practice Certificate (ICAN, ACCA, etc)
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience.
