Role Summary/Purpose:
The Life Cycle Value Manager will support the goal of improving GE’s understanding of and influence over customer economic evaluation criteria for thermal power generation capital investments. This individual will develop transaction specific customized economic models to assess transactional competitiveness. The Life Cycle Value Manager will have the responsibility to work across the many GE functions and assemble the best Life Cycle strategy for P&W.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • The Life Cycle Value Manager will be responsible for gaining an in-depth understanding of regional energy markets and the economic value customers derive from the sale of energy, capacity and ancillary services.
  • The Life Cycle Value Manager will contribute towards developing and executing Regional Marketing Penetration Strategies.
Essential Functions:
  • Ensure economic models reflect customer decision making criteria at the transaction level. Participate on each transaction in assigned region. Ensure our business understands customer evaluation criteria at transaction level.
  • Collect regional VOC and VOM on the value of flexible generation solutions. Partner with Marketing team to develop NPI and build reference material / collateral on region energy market structures, pricing mechanisms, and policy.
  • Lead and conduct customer meetings to understand perceived value and influence with GE strengths.
  • Support communication and training programs in each region to build Sales and Commercial competencies on customer value calculation and creation.
  • Gather and analyze competitor feedback in the regions to improve GE understanding of value differentiation in the eyes of our customers.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • An MBA or a Finance related post graduate qualification would be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in marketing or engineering and a strong technical and commercial background in thermal power generation.
  • Demonstrated gas turbine and combined cycle product and cycle knowledge/experience.
  • Strong understanding and direct experience with customer evaluation methodology
  • Proven analytical skill set and strategic mindset.
  • Strong grasp of power plant economics.
  • Experienced leader in a matrix environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work in a global team
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in Nigeria
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Desired Characteristics:
  • Knowledgeable of power generation industry trends and competition.
  • Experience with a Utility, IPP, Independent System Operator, Public Utility Commission, or Project Developer in economic lifecycle modeling
  • Ability to assess impact of price and performance decisions on customers, market, & investors.
  • MBA or advanced Engineering degree.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, innovative and creative thinker
