Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

• We are looking for an ambitious Junior Accounting Officer to provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
• Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
• Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
• Assist with statutory documentation and filing.
• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
• Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports as well as Annual closing reports.

Requirements

• B.Sc / BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
• 0 - 2 years experience with 2-1 or First class in Accounting.
• Non-Accounting graduates with good Excel skills who have commenced ICAN or ACCA may apply.
• Excellent organizing abilities.
• Great attention to detail and a fast learner.
• Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Proven experience as a junior accountant is an added advantage
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. Sage).
