Job Title: Head Chef (Preferably Male)

Description

Job Responsibilities

• Controlling and Directing the food preparation process
• Approving and polishing dishes before they reach the customer
• Managing and working closely with all the kitchen staff
• Creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality
• Determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
• Ultimately responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines

Requirements

• Degree / Certification in Culinary science
• At least 2 years’ experience in similar role
• Proven working experience as a Head Chef
• Experience in Continental, African and Patisserie Culinary Art
• Excellent record of kitchen management
• Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
• Capable of delegating tasks
• Communication and leadership skills
• Keeps up with cooking trends/techniques and best practices
• Basic knowledge of MS Office program
• Ability to operate modern culinary equipment
