News: Glo, NYSC Parley on Youth Empowerment

NYSC - The Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Boni Haruna, has described Globacom as a worthy indigenous telecommunication company adding great value to the communication experience of Nigerians with its unique products and services.

Haruna who gave the commendation, yesterday, when he paid a courtesy visit to Globacom's corporate headquarters in Lagos welcomed the proposal to connect corps members and staff of NYSC in a Closed User Group by supplying the corps with 120,000 lines yearly.

He said that such a development would make the Ministry trendy and abreast of international best practices, adding, "We appreciate the leadership of Globacom. It is not in doubt, Glo has achievements well over others by its products and services as an indigenous company. I assure you of our cooperation. We thank you for being ready to partner with us."

Welcoming the Minister earlier, Globacom's Executive Director Legal Services, Mrs Gladys Talabi said since inception more than eleven years ago, Gbobacom had always embarked on poverty alleviation and empowerment programmes to make life more abundant for Nigerians and had supported the National Poverty Alleviation Programme (NAPEP).
