Job Title: Social and Behaviour Change Communication Coordinator

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • In summary, the SBCC Coordinator will design and support the implementation of interventions to change social norms that limit the practice of optimal nutrition-related behaviours.
  • The SBCC Coordinator will focus on advising and supporting the nutrition intervention with defining their change standards that will maximize the adoption of nutrition practices and minimize resistance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Apply appropriate and structured change management methods and lead change management activities for the nutrition intervention.
  • Identify and implement innovative ways to deliver nutrition messages.
  • Develop the capacity of Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) to effectively deliver nutrition messages and conduct situation analysis.
  • Support the development of nutrition education and behaviour change communication messages.
  • Identify and support implementation of low-cost supply-side solutions to promote social and behaviour change.
  • Provide input, document requirements, and support the design and delivery of the stipulated training programs.
  • Identify and engage with relevant public and private organizations to partner with to achieve the behaviour change objectives of ALDDN's nutrition intervention.
  • Work with the nutrition team in ensuring the project (behaviour change initiatives) meets objectives on time and on budget.
  • Facilitate the preparation of project activity and output reports using innovative approaches that engagingly demonstrate project impacts in beneficiary households and communities.
  • Provide periodic report on the activities of the team to the National Team Leader.

Educational Qualification and Experience Required

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree preferably in Nutrition or any relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in nutrition, advocacy, behavioral change, and development
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Superior organizational skills with a natural inclination for planning, strategy, and tactics
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle
