The Daily Local Company Limited, publishers of Nigeria’s newest online community newspaper, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Social Media Manager

Location: Lagos Mainland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• We are seeking a Social Media Manager to help maintain and expand the newspapers presence across social media plat forms.
• As part of the social media team, the manager works across the organization to translate the Daily Local’s reporting to social networks, keeping in mind that these venues mark many visitors’ principal encounter with the newspaper.
• As such, the Social Media Manager must possess excellent writing and editing skills, strong organizational and communication skills, a passion for social media, and a deep interest in the stories and issues regularly covered by Daily Local.

Responsibilities

• Create and distribute Daily Local’s content across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn
• Organize and publish video content
• Write engaging, clean copy that's consistent with Daily Local’s voice
• Research emerging platforms and trends to help us find new ways to reach audiences
• Monitor and relay community concerns
• Collect and analyze performance data.

Skills and Qualifications

• A minimum educational attainment of an HND / B.Sc
• Minimum of 2 years experience.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education
• Social media management experience, ideally for a company or institution
• Excellent organizational skills and confidence working on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of and interest in the topics covered byDaily Local, including local news, local politics, culture, and humour.
• Willingness to work some early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• An excellent command of the English language
• Excellent English language writing skills
• An ability to work unsupervised
• Highly IT literate
• A full command of the tools required to be a successful social media manager.
