Our client, a top-flight Engineering Firm in Nigeria based in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State, is recruiting suitable candidates to fill the position below:
Job Title: Solar Engineer
Location: Ibeju Lekki, Lagos

Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical designs of solar home systems and products to meet client’s power/energy requirements.
- Ensure we have the right products and they are all in good working condition and run pilots on new products and accessories.
- Train the field and office staff on new products and best practices.
- Develop and run market tests on new products (including components and accessories) that can meet the customers’ energy needs and functional requirements.
- Develop/Review design specifications & functional requirements, test run products and recommend engineering or manufacturing changes.
- Perform usage and life time stress tests, or cost reduction analysis.
- Recommend technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality or performance.
- Provide expert consultation on solar PV components such as modules, inverters and trackers.
- Perform every electrical work needed to connect the solar home system components. This includes remote tracking, proper controls and all testing necessary.
- Review specifications and recommend engineering or manufacturing changes to achieve solar design objectives.
- Assist service operations team in troubleshooting issues related to installation.
- Create electrical single-line diagrams or connection diagrams for solar home and electric systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Prepare quotations, Bill of materials based on cost-effective engineering designs.
- Install, inspect, maintain and repair when possible solar panel systems, including the solar collectors, batteries, pumps, home systems, fans, or support structure.
- Identify strategic solar and electrical equipment suppliers.
- Plan and develop operation and maintenance program for clients and internal use.
- Perform site visits and maintenance checkups on a regular basis.
Qualifications & Skills
- HND / B.Sc. in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Physics and Electronics or related Technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years proven work experience in solar energy industry.
- Registration and/or membership of recognized engineering body is desirable.
- Certification in Solar Energy Design and Installation is desirable.
- Excellent electronics, troubleshooting and resolution skills.
- Must be able to function equally well in collaborative, multi-discipline teams, and self-directed independent assignments.
- Must be self-motivated with strong multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills.
- Knowledge of PV system components, wiring practices, layout, low voltage AC design, medium voltage design, relay protection, metering, utility interconnection requirements etc.
- Organization: Works systematically, use time efficiently; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines without direct supervision
- Respectful: Due regard should be shown for all Company property and equipment.
- Ability to respond to client issues in a timely and professional manner
- Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Having a systematic approach to work and an eye for detail.
- Self-starter, motivated, eager, inquisitive, innovative, proactive and enthusiastic.
Salary
N110,000 - N120,000 monthly.
